Financial innovation in action

China’s leadership has pursued a strategy of innovation-driven development and has sought to leverage the potential of the internet, big data and artificial intelligence (AI). The audacious and inventive new generation of entrepreneurs; the consumer appetite; and the government’s support are big parts of this new strategy. By empowering those three pillars, China, and especially Beijing, which is a national sci-tech innovation centre, has become an emerging name in technology due to the successes of companies such as Baidu, JD.comand many more.

Following a successful China Innovation Tour in 2016, we are pleased to unveil the Beijing Innovation Tour 2018. This is a programme for senior and chief executives in financial institutions, start-ups, innovators, and investors to learn the latest trends in technology and financial services industry.

The tour is organised in conjunction with The Future of Finance Summit 2018 and includes three days of site visits to information and communications technology (ICT) solutions company Huawei; financial technology companies Baidu Finance, founded by Baidu; and the world’s most valuable unicorn Ant Financial Ant Financial. Participants will also visit China’s Silicon Valley, Beijing Zhongguancun Software Park Incubator; one of China's most innovative banks, China Construction Bank; and Bank of Beijing , a well-known advocate of inclusive finance,. Those who will join the tour will also be able to attend The Future of Finance Summit 2018 featuring Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web as keynote speaker.

A key feature of the tour is to facilitate dialogue with leading players in the local and international financial industry, together with China’s leading experts, innovators and investors. First-hand experiences and insights from the tour will help your institution keep abreast of the latest in financial services and technology innovation. Delegate seats are limited to 30 participants to allow more interaction and participation.
