Amando M. Tetangco
JR., Governor and Chairman of the Monetary Board Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas
 

As BSP Governor, Tetangco serves as Chairman of the Monetary Board, the BSP’s principal monetary policy-making body. He is also the Chairman of the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC). He has been in the service of the BSP for more than three decades. Prior to his first appointment as Governor in July 2005, he was Deputy Governor in-charge of the Banking Services Sector, Economic Research and Treasury of the BSP. He also served as Alternate Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C. from 1992 to 1994. Governor Tetangco is involved in various organizations in the Philippines and overseas such as the ASEAN Central Bank Forum, Executive Meeting of East Asia and Pacific (EMEAP) Central Banks, South East Asia Central Banks (SEACEN), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank (WB) and in the Asian Development Bank (ADB).


 

Hans B Sicat
President & CEO, Philippine Stock Exchange
 

Hans B. Sicat was named president and CEO of the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) in January 2011. He served as chairman and independent director of the PSE from May 2009 to January 2011 and is concurrent president and CEO of the Securities Clearing Corporation of the Philippines. Currently, he is non-executive vice chairman and director of LegisPro and also holds positions in various business entities such as Serica Balanced Fund and Master Fund. He also sits on the Euromoney Asia advisory board and is independent director of Philippine Dealing System Holdings among others. Sicat has more than two decades of experience as an investment banker and has worked for Citigroup and its predecessor firms Citicorp and Salomon Brothers in the Philippines, Hong Kong and New York City holding several key positions


 

Lorenzo V. Tan
President, Bankers Association of Philippines, President and CEO, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation

Lorenzo Villanueva Tan is the president of the Bankers Association of the Philippines and has been CEO and president of Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) since April 2007, responsible for the business repositioning and growth of RCBC. He spearheaded the bank’s acquisition of a 30-year old thrift bank and a family owned rural bank, which is set to drive RCBC’s future growth in the area of microfinance. Tan has extensive experience in banking both in the Philippines and abroad. He served as president of Philippine National Bank from 2002 to 2005, and United Coconut Planters Bank from 1998 to 2002. In the past, Tan held various senior positions in Citibank North America and Citibank Singapore. He is also currently chairman of the Asian Bankers Association and vice chairman, TOYM foundation.


 

Jaspar Roos
Chief Inspiration Officer, XL Family and Founding, Partner, Ventur.es

Jaspar Roos is a renowned authority in the field of innovation and was chief inspiration officer for ABN AMRO Bank for many years. Managing the innovation and venturing lab Dialogues Incubator, Roos has been one of the pioneers in themes such as wearable technology and crowd funding. He is also an expert innovation member of the OISP group for the European Commission. He is partner at XL Family, an international incubator and accelerator. He is also teaching courses on innovation leadership and innovation models as visiting professor on innovation in Master in Business Innovation program at CEDIM México.


 

Rogier van den Brink
Lead Economist, The World Bank

Rogier van den Brink is currently the East Asia region lead economist in the poverty reduction and economic management department of the World Bank. He is lead economist for the Philippines. Prior to his move to Asia in 2008, Dr. van den Brink worked in various positions in the Africa department, including as senior country economist in South Africa and deputy resident representative in Zimbabwe. Before joining the World Bank in 1992, he was a research associate at Cornell University and an associate expert with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands in Burkina Faso. Dr van den Brink holds a PhD in agricultural economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the US and a Masters degree in sociology from Wageningen University in the Netherlands.


 

Mark Perez
Head, Retail Banking Group, Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company

Mark Perez has been Metrobank’s retail banking group head since January 2013. He supervises retail product management, direct banking channels, decision management and customer analytics, as well as quality and customer experience. In his 20-year career, he served as branch operations and services head of Citibank (Philippines) and held various other senior positions at Metrobank. He also worked with Accenture Manila Consulting Office’s financial services practice from 1998 to 2002 leading branch reengineering, data warehouse, balanced scorecard, and sales transformation projects with banking clients. Perez has also been director and executive committee member of BancNet since April 2013.


 

Ismael Sandig
SEVP and Group Head, CTBC Bank, Philippiness

With over 35 years of banking experience, Ismael Sandig is a seasoned retail banker who is currently head of retail banking at CTBC Bank in the Philippines. He is a pioneer of innovations and structural reforms that have helped a number of banks in the Philippine retail banking sector improve their bottom-line and reinvent a sales-driven culture; his plans and input for re-engineering sales distribution networks in particular have influenced developments at many of these banks. His previous appointments include senior positions at Union Bank, Eastwest Banking Corp, PNB, RCBC where his responsibilities included microfinance and rural subsidiaries, and the ATM consortium, Bancnet.


 

Benjamin S. Oliva
FSVP, Global Filipino Banking Group Head (International Branches and Subsidiaries), Philippine National Bank

Benjamin S. Oliva joined Philippine National Bank (PNB) in 2012 and is currently responsible for defining and delivering a new business model for global banking at PNB to bolster the bank’s value proposition to overseas Filipinos. Prior to this role, Mr. Oliva was consumer finance head at the United Coconut Planters Bank where he developed and executed a comprehensive growth strategy for the bank’s consumer banking business. Previously he held increasingly senior positions at Citibank Group where, at the culmination of a 20 year career, Mr. Oliva was appointed president of Citibank Savings Inc. after he led the negotiation and acquisition of Insular Savings Bank, a move which significantly expanded Citibank’s consumer branch network in the Philippines. Mr. Oliva is a former vice president of the Philippines Chamber of Thrift Banks.


 

Alexander Escucha
SVP, Chief Marketing Officer, China Banking Corporation, Philippines

Alex Escucha is responsible for strategic planning, investor relations, marketing services, public relations, strategic marketing and customer aspects of IT in China Banking Corp, the first privately owned bank in the Philippines. With over 25 years of banking experience across multiple disciplines, he has management expertise ranging from strategy formulation to project implementation. He has also served as chairman of the Federation of ASEAN Economic Associations.


 

Enrique C. Buenaflor
SVP, Head for Business Development, Global Transaction Banking, Rizal Commercial Banking Corp

Enrique C. Buenaflor is responsible for sales and client business development for transaction banking products at Rizal Commercial Banking Corp (RCBC). This covers cash management solutions, supplier trade financing, corporate internet banking and institutional tie-ups for pre-paid cash cards. He has over 20 years of experience at local and international institutions in the Philippines including Philippine Bank of Communications and ABM Amro Bank, and has held a variety of senior leadership positions in areas such as structured products, underwriting and cash management. Mr Buenaflor started his banking career with Citibank N.A. and holds an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management.


 

Ken Arthur J. Tiambeng
VP, Head of Electronic Banking, Banco de Oro, Philippines

Ken Tiambeng is currently vice president and head of electronic banking at Banco De Oro Unibank, Inc., where he is responsible for the online, mobile, and phone banking business. He has over 15 years of experience in electronic banking, technology and operations, and marketing. Previously he was vice president for the information systems group at Asiatrust Bank and prior to this he spent 10 years with Citibank, Philippines rising to become assistant vice president for operations and technology. Mr. Tiamberg has extensive expertise in engineering and holds a masters degree in technology management from the University of the Philippines.


 

Nazmul Karim Chowdhury
FVP, Head of Brand, City Bank

Nazmul Karim Chowdhury is currently first vice president and head of brand at City Bank. Chowdhury joined the bank in July 2009 and has since reshaped the bank’s brand image. He has overseen multiple successful product launches and marketing campaigns including the bank’s award winning American Express ‘My Life My Card’ campaign. During his brand leadership tenure the bank has won several prestigious industry awards, receiving recognition at an international level. Chowdhury has also championed the idea of promoting the Bangladesh story to global investors by hosting the first ever Bangladesh Investment Summit in Singapore and London. Previously, he spent six years in the advertising industry. He holds an MBA in marketing and also teaches ‘consumer behavior’ and ‘service marketing’ as an adjunct faculty member at the American International University, Bangladesh.


 

Frederick M. Faustino
Head of Mobile Banking, Bank of the Philippine Islands

Frederick M. Faustino has been managing mobile banking at the Bank of the Philippine Islands since 2008. During his 17 year career which started in the bank’s IT department, he has been involved in the development of many of the bank’s pioneering mobile services including mobile apps for banking and shopping purposes and a mobile wallet using a NFC payment platform, as well as the precursor,  SMS banking. Recognition has followed; in 2010, BPI Express Mobile was acknowledged as best app for mobile phone banking in the Asia Pacific, Central Asia and Gulf region. Mr. Faustino holds a degree in computer science from De La Salle University in the Philippines.


 

Edmund Reyes
Former Chief Information Officer, Maybank Philippines

Edmund Reyes has more than 20 years of experience in banking operations. As CIO at Maybank Philippines, he was in charge of IT operations management, information security, technical support and business analysis. In his role, he has implemented major projects, including regional cash management system, Kondor Plus Treasury System and the regional mobile banking platform. He has a broad experience in the Asian banking sector, having led various positions, such as vice president at Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation, assistant vice president at Banco De Oro, application architect at RCBC in the Philippines and business analyst at Citigroup Singapore. In addition to his retail banking experience, he has also joined financial companies as IT software manager, project manager and business analyst.


 

David Margendorff
Co-Founder & Chairman, PawnHero

David Margendorff, an award winning entrepreneur, is co-founder and chairman of PawnHero, the first online pawnshop in Southeast Asia with a proposition to address the problem of affordable credit for emerging market consumers at the base of the credit pyramid. He has firsthand experience of building multiple venture capital backed, fintech start-ups including a period leading the Philippines expansion of CompareAsiaGroup, the largest financial comparison website in the world by footprint. Mr. Margendorff holds a business degree from the European Business School, London and has studied in the US, Barcelona and Buenos Aires.


 

Greg Russell
Head of Trsuteer, Asia Pacific, IBM Security Systems

Greg Russell is a senior client engagement business executive with over 25 years of regional leadership and management experience across sales, business development and marketing functions. He currently leads the Asia Pacific IBM Security Trusteer team, working closely with both global and regional banks on cyber security and cyber fraud prevention strategies along with go-to-market deployment of new cyber fraud security frameworks. Prior to IBM, he held management positions with Top Global MNC companies such as British Telecoms, and Telstra. He has spent an extensive amount of time in UK, Asia, Europe and the US working with a global client portfolio.


 

Sudhanshu Ahuja
Managing Directory, Ideatory Pte. Ltd., Singapore

Sudhanshu Ahuja (Sudh) is Managing Director of Ideatory, a start-up operating an online platform, which helps companies to select the best talent in the field of data and analytics by providing online quizzes and analytics challenges to evaluate potential hires. It also provides innovation services by organizing private hackathons and intra/entrepreneurship training where client’s employees work alongside young entrepreneurs to imbibe a start-up work culture. Its clients include DBS, Electrolux and several other large companies in the region. Ahuja also works as technology scout for Electrolux where he identifies technologies that could be of strategic importance to Electrolux’s product lines. Prior to founding Ideatory, he worked for the Monetary Authority of Singapore. 


 

Daniel T. Wolfram
Head of Business Solutions, FIS

Daniel Wolfram serves as the head of the business solutions team for FIS’ Financial Solutions Group in ASEAN and North Asia. In this role, he is responsible for working with clients to deliver solution design, innovation, and implementation of leading edge technologies that facilitate technology transformation in banks. Wolfram has worked with banks in the Asia Pacific region for more than 20 years providing leadership and strategic consulting in the areas of core banking, system integration, electronic banking channels and digital banking. Currently working from a Bangkok base, he has led multiple, successful large client engagements throughout the region.


 

Dr. Rita Chakravarti
Regional Analytics Head, Decision Analytics, Experian Asia Pacific

Dr. Rita Chakravarti joined Experian in April 2014 as head of analytics for the Asia Pacific region. She has over 25 years of global experience across the financial services, insurance and market research industries with core expertise in credit scoring, risk management, marketing analytics, analytics strategy development and analytics infrastructure, as well as expertise in team development and training. Prior to joining Experian, Dr. Chakravarti was the senior director for analytics presales for the APAC region at FICO. She has also worked in senior global and Asia Pacific analytics roles for IBM, Quattro Risk Management Services, Citibank and IMRB International. A multiple degree holder, Dr. Chakravarti is also an adjunct associate professor at NUS Business School where she teaches business analytics.


 

David Brearley
CEO, Silverlake Consultancy

David Brearley is currently working with Silverlake, on the development of innovative software architectures to enable banks to compete in the Digital Economy. Brearley has spent 45 years in consulting and senior management positions in financial services world-wide, including 18 years as a CIO. In 1988 he was appointed the first Group Head (CIO) of Standard Chartered Bank. In the last fifteen years, David has focused on practice areas of Business Transformation, IT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture working particularly with large local bank CEOs, COOs and CIOs in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. He has also worked on the early stage development of software businesses in search, middleware and omni-channel services.


 

Michael Moon
Head of Payments Markets, Asia Pacific, SWIFT

Michael Moon leads SWIFT’s payment market business across Asia Pacific. In this role, on behalf of SWIFT, he partners with the payments and banking industry to deliver settlement solutions in both the high value and retail payments sectors. He is also responsible for managing strategic initiatives across ASEAN and Oceania for infrastructural projects. Moon has 15 years global experience in the financial services and payments industry, where he has held positions in business development, strategy and marketing. Prior to joining SWIFT, he led group strategy and business development for American Express and has also worked in the Australian banking industry with Citi and Commonwealth Bank. Moon holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
