The Annual Korea Financial Markets Dialogue
19 November 2014, Lotte Seoul
Korean exchanges struggle to source liquidity amidst a deteriorating operating environment
The Asian Banker’s Korea Financial Markets Dialogue is the start of a series of conversations between key players on the efficiency, stability and innovation of capital markets in the region. It intends to regularly review the evolution in the domestic pre and post trading landscape as well as evaluate the progress of all market participants in improving local infrastructure capabilities.
The challenges for Korean financial markets are multi-faceted as trading volumes across both equity and derivative exchanges registered declines impacting business profitability of financial market institutions. Korean decision makers determined to reverse these negative trends are well-served to join the dialogue, as innovative solutions designed to address financial market issues are formulated.
The dialogue is a half-day forum comprising four sessions, focused broadly on the following key financial market issues faced by participants:
- Enhancing market integrity and quality: challenges and prospects
- Devising efficient and robust trading platforms
- Implementing global OTC regulations: impact on Asian derivative markets
This dialogue will also provide partner organizations, including the ‘buy-side’, technology providers and consulting firms an opportunity to interact with decision makers who are at the forefront of developing world class market and exchange venues in Korea.
