Sukarela Batunanggar serves as deputy commissioner of Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), leading the department of Assessment and Learning Centre and Digital Finance Innovation and Microfinance Group. He leads various key units and strategic projects at Bank Indonesia and Indonesia Financial Services Authority, covering front-line bank supervision, regulatory and supervisory policy, macro prudential policy, crisis management, capacity building, organizational transformation and digital financial innovation. Previously, he served as deputy commissioner of Banking Supervision I, leading banking research and regulation department, banking licensing and information system department, and Islamic banking department. Batunanggar is also currently advisor in Banking Supervision at the OJK, formulating framework and overseeing the implementation of Regional Development Bank (BPD) Transformation Program. He was also director of Financial System Stability at the OJK during 2012 to 2014. Awarded as the best participant of Bank Indonesia Executive Leadership Development (SESPIBI) of 2010, he develops and facilitates holistic leadership development programs that integrate spirit, mind and action for personal and organizational transformation.
