Nguyen Duy Anh, ​Deputy Director, Alternative Channel Business Department (E-Bank), VietinBank

Nguyen Duy Anh is deputy director of Alternative Channel Business Department (E-Bank) at VietinBank. He has participated in several important projects since he joined VietinBank in 2009. He successfully led and rolled out internet banking for bank’s first foreign branch in Germany in 5 months’ time. He was a module lead in the core banking replacement project which was successfully completed in 2017. Anh has been leading VietinBankiPay Mobile Banking project since 2016. The application has reached more than one million active users as of 2018. During 2018, Anh and the team also successfully acquired around 10,000 QRPay Merchants. His ambition is to build a diverse and robust ecosystem surrounded by the VietinBankiPay.

Le Nguyen Bao Song, Director of Business Development of RedCloud Technology

Le Nguyen Bao Song ( Song Le) is director of business development at RedCloud Technology, the connected marketplace for financial services. Song has a vast working experience of about 14 years in finance and technology industry and held various management positions in banking, consumer finance, life insurance, and a technology company providing supply chain related system solutions.

Tran Cong Quynh Lan, Deputy General Director, VietinBank

Tran Cong Quynh Lan is currently the deputy general director and chief information officer of VietinBank. He spent over 6 years to lead the technology transformation in VietinBank. Launching 15 strategic IT projects in which the most significant and challenging component of the transformation was the core banking replacement. Since 2017, he has built a new IT strategy for VietinBank with a focus on digitisation towards elevating customer experience, improved efficiency and better financial result. Prior to this, Lan has 12 years of IT experience with OCBC Bank in Singapore, as the vice president of the group O&T – Consumer Banking Department.

Huynh Buu Quang, CEO, Maritime Bank Vietnam

Huynh Buu Quang is currently a member of the Board of Directors and CEO of Maritime Bank. Before joining MSB in October 2015, Mr. Quang worked at HSBC Group for almost 20 years and held various local and regional senior management positions including manager of credit risk management Asia Pacific at HSBC Hong Kong, deputy CEO & head of commercial banking at HSBC Vietnam, head of global trade & receivables finance, Asia Pacific region as well as managing director and head of commercial banking at HSBC Indonesia.

Ajit Shah, Managing Director – APAC, ACTICO

Ajit Shah is currently managing director of APAC at ACTICO. Ajit has 20+ years of successful background in business management, program and delivery management, consulting and change management focused on financial services industry. He has managed large technology-led transformation and business change programs across different enterprises. Alain Falys, Chairman & Co-Founder, Yoyo Wallet

Alain is a serial tech entrepreneur, executive and investor, with an affinity for financial services and e-commerce. He is the co-founder and Chairman of Yoyo Wallet, the global mobile payment & loyalty platform. He also co-founded and ran OB10, the largest global electronic invoicing network, and Omnis Mundi AG, a Frankfurt-based technology and Internet incubator specialized in e-commerce. As a Venture Partner at Imperial Innovations Plc, the AIM listed technology investment group, Alain was involved in three series A investments in recent years including Acunu, FeatureSpace and MusicMetric, raising over £35m in seed to series B capital from Tier 1 VC’s in the last 10 years. He also served as a strategic adviser to technology companies including ACE Software Solutions in the UK and TreasuryView in Estonia.

Malek Mroueh, Vice President & Regional Head of the Asia, Middle East & Africa, TSYS

Malek Mroueh holds a Master of Engineering in Microelectronics and has more than 25 years of experience working in the cards and payments industry. He has an in-depth knowledge of global payment landscapes, the requirements of financial inclusion and the benefits of branchless banking. Malek has worked in several fields within the payments industry including payment solution design, payment cards consulting and has extensive knowledge of digital payment channels and tools. Today, Malek is the Regional Head & Vice President of the Asia, Middle East & Africa region in TSYS.

Nguyen Kim Anh, Deputy Governor, State Bank of Vietnam

Nguyen Kim Anh is currently thedeputy governor, as well as chairman of Science and Technology Board; chairman of Payment Board; and head of SBV Fintech Steering Committee of State Bank of Vietnam since 2015. He supports the Governor in authorized areas, including: Banking system restructuring and bad debt resolution; payment and information technology; credit information system and deposit insurance; Financial Sector Modernization and Information Management System Project; as well as technical assistance projects in banking supervision.Within 2011 till 2015 he was the director general of Personnel Department, State Bank of Vietnam. Prior to this, he held various positionsat Banking Academy of Vietnam between 1985 – 2011.

Dr. Nguyen Toan Thang, Secretary General, Vietnam Banks Association

Dr. Nguyen Toan Thang is the secretary general of Vietnam Banks Association. He began his career in 1979 in State Bank of Vietnam and held different key positions in various areas such as bank credit, monetary policy, research, training, and many more. Dr. Thang was then in charge of IT and payment system in SBV for a long period of time. He was the deputy governor of State Bank of Vietnam before joining Vietnam Banks’ Association in July 2016 as secretary general.

Yoshiyuki is currently an advisor and angel investor for SME-friendly fintech startups. He is the former Founder & Managing Director at Crossborder Japan Co., Ltd., based in Tokyo & Singapore. Prior to this, he worked for Japan Finance Corporation (JFC), Tokyo Small and Medium Business Investment & Consultation Co., Ltd., and Mitsubishi UFJ Research & Consulting Co., Ltd.With 28 years of multinational experience in SME financial architecture in Japan & Asia, he has been involved in 32 projects, which include, MSME policy advisory & research, SME banking advisory, SME development fund management; financed by international agencies suchas JICA and World Bank. Can Van Luc, Chief Economist, BIDV

Dr. Can Van Luc is currently chief economist of the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and Director of BIDV Training School. Prior to this, Dr. Luc has worked on various key positions at BIDV, including head of international banking, head of securities department, director of Trade Finance Center, deputy general manager of Transaction Center I, general manager of transaction Center III, senior advisor to the group chairman as well as senior executive vice president and director of BIDV Training School. He has written number of articles which were published in different leading journals. He is also a member of the National Fiscal and Monetary Policy Advisory Council and a member of Vietnam National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (VNCPEC).

Paul Ho, Head and Director of Digital Banking & Innovation Lab, Asian Commcial Bank

Paul Ho is the head and director of Digital Banking and Innovation Lab of Asia Commercial Bank (ACB). He aims to position ACB as a disruptive thought leader by accelerating product innovation, bringing ideas to reality and redefining the future of the banking experience for consumers in Vietnam. Prior to ACB, Paul was the head of strategy and execution for Citi’s Consumer Innovations Labs. He has worked at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the central bank, and was part of the pioneering team in establishing the Financial Technology and Innovation Group (FTIG). This group focused on developing Singapore’s FinTech ecosystem with the aim to foster a conductive environment for innovation to flourish and contribute to the further growth of the country’s financial sector.

Do Van Long, Regional Chief Strategy Officer, Infinity Blockchain Labs

Do Van Long joined Infinity Blockchain Labs (IBL) as fintech director two years ago, then became president office director and now is regional chief strategy officer. Giang Le Ngoc, Legal and Policy Specialist, Ministry of Justice, Vietnam

Giang Le Ngoc is currently a legal and policy specialist at Ministry of Justice (MOJ). He is working on numerous legislative/regulatory programs and advises the government on laws enforcement-related issues of virtual currencies and virtual assets, financial and banking operation, capital and securities market development, trade and investment dispute settlement mechanism. He is also a member of the Government’s negotiation team for international treaties and organizations such as TPP, Vietnam-EU FTA, WTO, etc. Prior to this, he worked as production engineer, trade policy officer and legal expert within MOJ as well as the Competition Authority of Vietnam.

Luu Trung Thai, Vice Chairman, Military Bank

Luu Trung Thai is the vice chairman of the board and the chief executive officer of Military Bank (MB). Thai has been working with Military Bank for 20 years and held several key positions, including head of credit department, branch director, human resource director, and deputy general director in charge of retail banking. Previously he was board member of Viettel Post and chairman of Members Council of MB Finance company. He left many strong imprints in the restructuring process while he was chairman and CEO of MB Securities.

Christopher Balding, Associate Professor, Fulbright University Vietnam

Christopher Balding is an associate professor at the Fulbright University Vietnam after nine years at the HSBC Business School of Peking University Graduate School in Shenzhen, China. Mr. Richard Hartung, International Advisor, The Asian Banker

Richard has over 20 years of experience in the payments and consumer financial services industry, primarily in the Asia Pacific region. Following work in retail banking in California and a short stint in government, Richard was part of the team that started up retail banking for Citibank in Japan. Richard joined MasterCard in 1993 and headed up Operations & Systems for the Asia Pacific region. He moved to Keppel TatLee Bank in 1999 and launched a new credit card program that became profitable in just over 1 year. He then managed the integration of Keppelcard into OCBC Bank and was the Card Center Manager at OCBC. Vladislav Solodkiy, Managing Partner, Life.Sreda, CEOand Founder, Arival Bank

Vladislav Solodkiy was recognised by UK magazine Institutional Investor as one of the TOP35 most influential fintech-persons in the world in 2016 and 2017. He established Life. SREDA four years ago, which has invested in 22 start-ups in US, UK, Germany, CIS, Singapore, Philippines, India and Vietnam, including Simple, Moven, Fidor Bank, SumUp, Anthemis Group, Mobikon, and Lenddo. Vladislav founded Arival Bank, the first digital fintech bank for small businesses, GIGs and crypto-related SMEs in 2017. He helps to author the well-known annual fintech-research report Money of the future fintech&blockchain report and co-authored The First Fintech Bank’s Arrival.

Steven Landman, CEO, Kiu Global

Steve Landman is founder and CEO of Kiu Global, providing a software platform enabling SMEs’ access to finance through automated credit scoring and eKYC. He holds board seats and ownership in a number of companies and also advises several other companies. Steve has successfully started and sold over half a dozen technology companies in ecommerce, fintech, healthcare and products during his 27-year’s career. In 2010, ArcSight, a publicly traded company founded by Landman was acquired by Hewlett Packard for US$1.6bn.

Nguyen Quang Minh, Deputy CEO, Research and Development, NAPAS

As deputy CEO of National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS), Nguyen Quang Minh gained success in projects to build up a unique payment network for banks across the nation, provide e-payment services, expand benefits to card holders and effectively encourage the development of non-cash payments in Vietnam as per the instructions of the Prime Minister and the State Bank of Vietnam. Prior to this, he held different positions in Vietnam National Financial Switching JSC (Banknetvn), the predecessor of NAPAS. Minh also contributed immensely to the establishment of VNPT Electronic Payment JSC (VNPT EPAY) and was appointed to be the entity’s managing director in 2008. He started his career as chief of IT Management Division at Vietnam Data-communication Company (VDC).

Jeremy Berger, Co-Founder &COO, Arival Bank

Jeremy Berger is co-founder and COO of Arival Bank, a venture-backed digital banking startup for SMEs. He is also portfolio director of Life.SREDA, one of the first fintech only venture capital funds in Southeast Asia. Jeremy manages the digital banking, blockchain, and digital compliance side of the portfolio. Additionally, Jeremy helped to launch Goldbell Investments, the corporate VC arm of the Goldbell Group, focusing on investments in fintech, mobility and automotive innovations. Claude Spiese, Founder, BankClub

Claude Spiese is a fintech builder, an entrepreneurial executive with focus on digital banking in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. He built and launched Timo, Vietnam's first digital bank, in one year, and then ran the company with rapid customer acquisition, deposit taking, and product development, and led a successful Series A fund raising round. Arnab Ghosh, CEO, Post & Telecommunication Finance Company
