Chen Yuannian
Secretary General, China Banking Association
Chen Yuannian is Secretary General of China Banking Assocaition. Born in 1964, he has studied at PLA Engineering Institute, Nanjing Institute of Political Science and worked at PLA Chengdu Area and PLA General Logistics Department from September 1981 to June 1997. From July 1997 to October 2003, he worked at the People's Bank of China and then joined CBRC Beijing in November 2003. After working at CBRC General Office from May 2006 to March 2009, he took the position of Secretary General at China Banking Association.
Gertrude Tumpel-Gugerell
Former Executive Board Member, European Central Bank
Gertude Tumpel Gugerell, along with former ECB board chairman Jean-Claude Trichet and former ECB board vice-chairman Lucas Papademos, holds the distinction of being the longest serving member of the powerful six-person European Central Bank executive board. She was also known particularly for leading financial and payments integration for the Euro-zone and playing a key policy role in maintaining the euro's status as a major reserve currency. During her eight year term at the ECB, Tumpel-Gugerell was responsible for ECB market operations, payments operations, human resources, budget and organisation. Previous to that, she was the vice-governor at the Bank of Austria where she also served as the chair of the Banking Advisory Committee at the European Union as well as an IMF governor.
Zheng Zhiying
Chairman, Bank of Handan
Zheng Zhiying is the Chairman of Bank of Handan. Bank of Handan is a regional joint-stock commercial bank with the Municipal Government of Handan as the biggest shareholder. Zheng, Senior Economist, recipient of special allowance of the State Council, specialist at the 50 Experts in Social Science of Hebei Provice, was awarded one of the Outstanding Persons in Yanzhao Culture. After working at grass-root office, he took office at Handan Planning Commission, Handan Trust and Investment Company, Handan Port Office and Municipal Government of Handan successively from 1982 to 2005.

Hwa Erh-Cheng is chief economist at Baoshang Bank. Prior to this he served as chief economist at China Construction Bank, as well as in several departments of World Bank including the residence mission office in China, and economist at the International Monetary Fund. Earlier he pioneered research of a monthly econometric model of the US economy at Cornell University and the national bureau of economic research. He also served as chairman of Wuxi and Qunshang high-tech science park, advisor for the governor of China’s Guangdong province, and taught at Peking University, Beijing Normal University and Shih-Hsin University as visiting professor.

Louise Zhang is head of client products & solutions, Greater China in Global Transaction Banking. Based in Shanghai, she directs a team covering mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Zhang is one of the key members of Deutsche Bank China's working committee looking after RMB cross-border settlements. In this role, she maintains frequent dialogues with the major regulators in the country and participates in key surveys organised by the central bank of China. Before joining Deutsche Bank in November 2006, Zhang worked in a variety of roles in transaction banking for HSBC Shanghai and Hong Kong.

His scholarly work has been published in such leading journals as the Review of International Economics, the International Finance Review, and the Journal of Public Economic Theory on diverse topics including CDS pricing, the WTO, and the economics of adoption and abortion. Balding worked in private equity prior to entering academia.
