Building the bank of the future

The banking industry is under pressure from multiple directions: Regulators enforce stricter guidelines that banks have to implement, new players enter the market and take customers away with fancy new apps, the competition between local and foreign banks is stronger and profit margins are shrinking. In this situation, it is important for banks to stay on top of the competition by innovating certain key areas. These crucial areas will be discussed within the Technology Decision Makers School. We will talk about the ways innovation can be managed for your institution and how to deal with the plethora of vendors without losing the orientation. We will also look at social media and other digital channels and how to effectively deploy them to gain and retain customers. Furthermore, we will discuss at the risk side of things and talk about basics of cyber security, business contingency and how to leverage on data and analytics in order to find breaches, fraud and manage risk within your organisation.

For this year’s event, The Asian Banker chose six topics that we believe are central to understanding ongoing transformations taking place in banking technology and make them the focus of this one-day school. This is the perfect place to discuss forthcoming developments and day-to-day issues with excellent subject matter experts and renowned academics.

Key topics of discussion:

  • Introduction into business resiliency and contingency planning
  • Leveraging on social media for internal and external communication
  • Potentials of distributed ledgers, block chains and crypto currencies
  • Effective vendor management
  • Identifying future trends and creating the next generation of financial products

The Asian Banker is pleased to invite technology professionals as well as retail and consumer banking executives from financial institutions to this school. The workshop will provide participants with a better understanding of key challenges and explain the framework of technological innovations. Delegates attending this one-day workshop will gain complimentary access to the two-day Technology Decision Makers Conference, the most influential annual forum that brings together business and technology decision makers to benchmark technology choices and spending.
