Matt Dooley

Matt Dooley is founder and director of Connected Thinking, providing digital strategy, marketing, and training to banks. He is a member of the Next Bank team with over 20 years international experience driving change at two of the world’s leading banks, across three continents. He was global head of Internet strategy and head of digital experience for the global commercial banking division in HSBC. He pioneered HSBC’s global Internet design standards as a result of establishing the first Internet banking platform back in 2000. He stays abreast of the latest trends in mobile and virtual technology as well as social media and is instrumental in helping participants develop their own personal disciplines in handling these areas.


Jaspar Roos
Chief Inspiration Officer, XL Family and Founding, Partner, Ventur.es

Jaspar Roos is a renowned authority in the field of innovation and was chief inspiration officer for ABN AMRO Bank for many years. Managing the innovation and venturing lab Dialogues Incubator, Roos has been one of the pioneers in themes such as wearable technology and crowd funding. He is also an expert innovation member of the OISP group for the European Commission. He is partner at XL Family, an international incubator and accelerator. He is also teaching courses on innovation leadership and innovation models as visiting professor on innovation in Master in Business Innovation program at CEDIM México.


Michael G Mbuthia

Mbuthia has 14 years executive level experience with an extensive track record of transforming organizations through technology,He drives the implementation of technology platforms to deliver products and services to the Banking fraternity. He also develops and executes IPSL strategy by leveraging new and existing technologies to enable enhanced customer experiences. Previously he served as Head of IT Risk and Controls for a local bank, Head of ICT for a multinational organization.


Shiba Ghosh
SVP & head, Consumer banking, FCMB group

Mr. Shiba Ghosh serves as Head of Consumer Banking and Senior Vice President of FCMB Group Plc (formerly, First City Monument Bank Plc). Mr. Ghosh used to work in Standard Chartered Bank in Nigeria at 2006 before Joining FCMB in 2007. Prior he started his career at Citi bank in India as the head of regional sales and services for credit cards in 1990, then he moved on to Standard India in 1999 as the head of personal loan business

Carol Oyedeji is the Regional Head for Client Acquisition and Client Relationship for Africa and Middle East in the Retail Banking Business of Standard Chartered Bank.Prior she was Head of Business Banking for the Bank in Africa, where she was responsible for strategy and execution in the Segment focused on managing Small Businesses in the region. Carol has a deep knowledge of Retail Business as well as Wealth Management, Commercial Banking and local corporate entities, gained from more than two decades of experience in Financial Services across Functions and Geographies.

He has performed various roles with increasing responsibility from branch management to regional management and senior management. Prior, he was the Head of the Consumer Banking Business of Skye Bank plc. He has core competencies in Retail strategy and Business Development.


Percy Thaver
VP & Head, Africa, Nucleus Software

Currently serving as the Vice President for Nucleus Software- Africa office, Percy Thaver has over 22 years of experience in banking and technology across Africa. He has successfully contributed to the growth and success of several large multinational organizations operating out of South Africa, with his most recent being NCR, as the area director for Sub-Saharan Africa. Having started his career in one of South Africa's big four banks, Thaver grew to be the business manager for the East Rand. Thereafter he joined Bytes Technology Group, Africa’s largest IT Company, managing their key banking accounts. Thaver also spent some time at SAS, the world’s largest independent software company, as the industry executive for the South African financial sector.


Lazarus Ikechukwu Okolie
GM Chief Technology Officer, Fidelity Bank Plc

Mr. Okolie is the Chief Technology Officer for Fidelity Bank Nigeria tasked with the responsibilities enterprise architecture maintenance, IT strategic planning, and information security management system for Fidelity. He previously served as CIO for Bank of Industry Limited, where he undertook and ensured the recovery of data and business continuity of the BOI during turbulent times. Between 1999 and 2005, Lazarus held several positions within Information Technology Division of United Bank for Africa which included information security, data centre and enterprise support services, amongst others.


Ritesh Varma
Head for Banking Transformation Consulting Services for Europe, ME and Africa (EMEA), Newgen Software.

Over the last 17 years, Ritesh has been working with multiple BFSI players across the globe. Some of his recent accomplishments include coming with the concept of “Virtual Service Centers” for Banks. Currently he is working on the next generation Customer Experience Management which would improve the overall positioning of the bank and in turn catapult it to the next level. He has travelled far and wide in the region and in his free time enjoys getting to appreciate the different cultures that he comes across.


Nkolika Okoli
Group Head for Retail Banking, Skye Bank Plc

Nkolika is currently the Group Head for Retail Banking Group (comprising Consumer and SME banking, Strategic Alliances & Money Transfer Franchise Units). Her banking experience is over 20 years and covers Branch Operations, Credit analysis, Relationship Management as well as branch banking. And also spans Banking Operations, Commercial and Corporate Banking as well as Branch Banking in different functional roles such as Private Banking Officer, Head of Branch Operations, Branch Manager, Head of Priority Banking Business and recently Regional Director, Ikoyi and Lagos Island region before the movement to Retail Group in January 2014.


Davidson Regha
Divisional head, South Bank, Heritage Bank

He has over 20 years of transaction banking experience in Nigeria providing credit and marketing solutions to companies in various sectors in the economy. In his current position he articulated and developed the Retail Banking Strategy of Heritage Bank before and after the acquisition of Enterprise Bank until very recently. Prior he was Acting Executive Director Lagos and Corporate Banking after the acquisition of Enterprise Bank by Heritage Bank in 2014, Head Private banking, Group head wealth management, Regional and Branch manager in various Nigerian Banks. He was at different time’s part of senior management team responsible for bank restructuring, business growth, risk asset portfolio management and deal origination.


Adewale Salami
Head of Information Technology Business Improvement, Access Bank

Mr. Salami has over 18 years of executive management experience and he is responsible for the Enterprise Architecture, IT Strategy, Innovation, Business Intelligence and Application Development in the Bank. He possess leadership, facilitation, analysis and design skills for the development of an Enterprise Technical Architecture (ETA), Process automation and IT Strategy. Prior, he has served in various positions notably as Head, IT Infrastructure in Citibank Nigeria where he played a key role in the Data Centre setup and migration.
